Low interest or no interest in the minimum wage consultation

Recent poor turn out to public consultation meetings to discuss a minimum wage on St Helena has resulted in a different plan of attack to help make a decision on what a minimum wage should be for employees on St Helena.

Ann Muir an overseas consultant leading the consultation process along with Deborah Knipe from SHG will now schedule meeting times with employers and employees at the work place to discuss a way forward for the minimum wage.

Does this mean that employees on St Helena are happy with the wages that they are earning or is it because employees feel that the input  from the meetings will not bring anything to the table.
