Getting here to St Helena

One might ask…. how do I get to the Island of St Helena?

Getting to St Helena is not easy, and it is not a straight forward process, unlike a normal procedure, when visiting other places.

The only regular means of travel to the Island is on the Royal mail ship- the RMS St Helena.

The RMS as it is commonly known sails to and from Cape Town, Ascension Island and twice annually from the UK.

During the Island’s summer months, there are often visits from scheduled Cruise ships.

To obtain more information about how to get to the Island, please visit the RMS St Helena Website, when planning a visit to St Helena for a few weeks or months, there is never a shortage of guest houses/self catering accommodation, small hotels or Bed and Breakfasts to choose from.

These can be booked directly with the owners or via the ‘St Helena Tourism website an click on the accommodation link.

This short video below demonstrates what life is like on board the RMS St Helena
