The street carnival that followed the Halloween Party

We pulled it off again this year says Nick Stevens from the new horizons after he had counted just over 500 people that walked through the gates of High Knoll fort  for the HallowView Posteen family night out on Friday night.

Basil Reads shuttle bus service made shuttle trips to and from the fort throughout the evening and into the morning

Some of the crowds who were impatient and really keen to see the highlights of the night decided to walk to the event.

At one point the queues increased at the main gate as there were concerns of overcrowding however the St Helena Police were on hand to assist. The party continued on into the morning but the crowd finally left High Knoll to get prepared for the street carnival that was about to kick off the following day in Jamestown in aid of cancer support, this was another success as the town went from the usual quiet main street to a colorful noisy carnival atmosphere.

The carnival activities started at the hospital in upper Jamestown and made its way into the grand parade where stalls entertainment and other activities took place.

The cancer support group who organized the event were over whelmed with the support from the Island  community and the efforts they made for yet another successful event.
